Intense 5.5 29er

Intense is one of the raddest bike companies and they still build their stuff in the USA. Their bikes are works of art. They have this cool feature on their website with regard to their 5.5 29er prototype. You can email them how you would like the bike to perform. They are asking for suggestions basically. On a side note I noticed they updated their site as well, which is way easier to navigate.

NYC Bike Messengers

Before we had cars we used to ride to the trails. Riding through NYC streets was the norm. My brother and I would start in Queens NY and ride all the way to the Staten Island Ferry to go to the Staten Island GreenBelt… Along the way we would pick up friends and we would eventually have an entire mob of mountain bikers heading towards the ferry terminal, riding the NYC streets… This video reminded me of those days…

On the Yucatan peninsula you will find many cenotes carved out of the limestone bedrock which offer great diving opportunities as well as great places to just chill out…

Spooky

Guess who is back? Spooky Bikes. They were a breath of fresh air in the 90′s. Instead of following the moto-inspired-NASCAR-race-model they approached mountain biking like a indy punk label. I talked with them years back when I worked for a particular shoe brand and they were the coolest dudes. It’s good to see they are making a come back. Transition Bikes sort of reminds of Spooky but without the goth-punk inspired graphics. (Spooky link found via BlueCollar)

Yeti AS-R SL

July 29th, 2007 | By Iolo in MTB | 2 Comments »

My friend, Steve, recently got his hands on a anodized black Yeti AS-R SL with a Fox RP23 rear shock. The swingarm is made from carbon!!!

The rear shock provides just under four inches of travel and is said to provide incredible ride performance and adjustability. He just got it so the verdict is still out but you can look at the details on yeti cycles’ website
