You ever get that feeling like you just need to drop what you are doing and head to the hills? Yesterday I woke up and decided to leave behind the work and deadlines and head for some solitude and a much needed creative recharge. My destination was Ice House Canyon and the top of Timber Mtn. Tom Rosenquist (known as Tom R on this site) is an artist and occasionally takes busted electronics and brings them back to life in a new form. He recently converted a busted digital camera and the results are really trippy. These photos are from the last trip we wrote about. No filters or photoshop has been done to these. Read Full Post

WMBNA.org offers a great map to Blue Mountain in Peekskill, NY. Favorites include Upper Sis, Sis, Debacle (beat the living crap out of me), My Favorite Trail and what we think is the best, MYX Monster. Monster is the type of trail where it flows as long as you can handle the rocks, roots, tight twistys, short burst climbs, drops, and occassional screams of horror because your friend is about to endo and do a face plant on jagged rocks right behind you. We’ve tried Monster in both directions and although either direction is fun, its best starting by the 29 marker (which the map clearly points out!).

Special Thanks to Nelson for doing the on-trail bike adjustment so I could continue my riding enjoyment.

I was planning a hike for this past weekend and decided to turn it into a one nighter and I chose Santa Anita Canyon (Chantry Flats). The reason I chose this place was the hike was mainly in the shade and along a creek. The camp sites are tucked away 2-3 miles into the woods and have fire rings. The crew for this trip was Bobby, Tom R and myself. Enjoy the pics (all photos by Bobby Sattler): Read Full Post
